I am a senior economist - head of the Americas Desk - at the OECD Development Centre. Before joining the OECD in 2008, I worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and the European Central Bank as a research economist on emerging market issues with a focus on Latin America. My fields of specialization are international macroeconomics and finance, fiscal policy and economic growth and productivity. I hold a Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from the University of Maryland at College Park and completed my undergraduate economic studies at the University of the Republic of Uruguay.
